What: premiere of the film “Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland”
A new reading of old and beloved stories. The writers brought together the textbook characters of Lewis Carroll and James Barry, and also tried to combine fairy tale and reality. The result was mixed, but the movie is worth watching. So, did you know that, it turns out, before Alice went to Wonderland and Peter became Pan, they were brother and sister.
The cast is worth a separate mention. In the main female role – very beautiful Angelina Jolie. The leading male actor and also the producer of the film is David Oyelowo. With them in the company – Michael Caine, David Oyelowo, Anna Chancellor – we have not yet decided ourselves which one is more interesting.

What: the exhibition “Younger Bruegels and their era. Dutch painting of the golden age from the collection of Valeria and Konstantin Mauerhaus ”
If ratings of great dynasties were created in the world history of art, then one of the first lines in this list would probably be taken by the Brueghel family. Over the course of a century, over four generations, it has gifted nearly a dozen artists to mankind, not to mention numerous imitators and followers of the Bruegel tradition.
I remember that a year and a half ago, many interested in painting and art, specially flew to Austria, to the Bruegel exhibition at the Vienna Museum of Art History. To buy a ticket, you had to stand in a decent line. Now there is an opportunity to see Bruegel the Younger, having traveled from Moscow to New Jerusalem.
In total, 70 works are displayed on an area of 650 square meters, most of which will be shown to the Russian public for the first time. In the center of the exhibition opened at the end of 2020 – the works of Pieter Bruegel the Younger (1564-1638), the son and follower of Pieter Bruegel the Elder (he was nicknamed Hellish). He was an excellent copyist of his father’s works, thanks to which we have an idea of many of his father’s works, the originals of which have been lost. Particularly noteworthy are the artist’s early composition “The Rich Man and the Flatterers”, the relatively large “Peasant Feast”, as well as his well-known painting “The Good Shepherd”. Previously, it was in the collection of N.K. Roerich, and later transferred to the collection of the Belgian baron Paul Kronaker. For a long time this work caused fierce controversy,
The second son of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625), who is known in the world of painting as Velvet, passed a different creative path. He was less dependent on his father’s patterns (exact copying was not his path), although he also went through this experience. For example, his version of “Winter Landscape with a Bird Trap” is also presented at the exhibition. A relatively small number of works by Jan Brueghel the Elder are complemented by paintings by his son, student and heir to the workshop, Jan Brueghel the Younger (1601–1678). Their workshop was one of the most popular and sought-after art productions in Antwerp, which had a great influence on the 17th century Flemish school of painting.
A separate group at the exhibition is formed by the works of Frans II Franken and Sebastian Vranks – famous Antwerp masters of historical and battle genres who preferred to create works of chamber format and in this sense were direct creative rivals of the Younger Bruegels.
